Halfway through 2015, Owens & Minor’s current CEO retired and a new leader joined the organization. Within a few months, he shared his plans to emphasize our global capabilities. In the past, our focus was mainly on domestic operations and sales. With that in mind, I created a look that communicated the shift to an international company. Our tagline “Connecting the world of medical products to the point of care” also fit nicely with the design.
Owens & Minor Wins XYZ Medical Center Contract
We’re pleased to share that Owens & Minor has secured a five-year contract extension with XYZ Medical Center* in Big City, State.
XYZ Medical Center is an award-winning, top academic medical center serving 1.5 million patients each year. They have heavily invested in the treatment and outcomes of their patients. XYZ operates out of four main hospital facilities and is affiliated with many hospitals, physician, and outpatient facilities throughout state and state. Over the years, Owens & Minor has supported XYZ during their expansion.
Competing to be Unique
Owens & Minor was able to retain the business because of our unique value proposition. Our collaborative approach to solving the customer’s needs set us apart. All functional areas of the business were represented, starting with the C-suite level. We provided education on supply chain savings opportunities and proposed opening a Strategic Logistics Center (SLC) to help consolidate their multiple supply chains and remove non-clinical activities and inventory out of the hospital.
By addressing their needs in an innovative way, XYZ began looking at Owens & Minor as a proactive, strategic partner. It was also beneficial that we started the process early and gained buy-in from key internal stakeholders. Having a change agent and champion at the customer location provided additional insight into their pain points.
